One pot meals are a cooks best friend. This Skillet Goulash is bursting with flavor on top of flavor.
Typically, goulash is cooked on top of the stove layering ingredients as you prepare it.
I started off with hamburger meat, adding some of our family favorite ingredients as it cooked, onion, diced tomatoes, yellow corn, white hominy, beans, ending with the traditional elbow macaroni.
One of the most commonly used pots for one pot meals in my kitchen is my Dutch oven cast iron skillet.
Some wonderful soups, stews, roast, and don't let me forget my fried chicken have been prepared in this iconic pot. Best yet, all the dishes that are prepared and served in the same pot, makes for less dish washing.

- 1 1/2 lean ground beef (80/20)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon coarse black pepper
- 1 14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes (do NOT drain)
- 1 15.5 oz. can yellow corn (do NOT drain)
- 1 15.5 oz. can white hominy (do NOT drain)
- 1 15 oz. can ranch style beans (do NOT drain)
- 1-2 cups water
- 2 1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon paprika
In a large Cast Iron Skillet, add hamburger, butter, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. On medium heat, cook until meat is done; break up meat as needed with spoon. Add tomatoes, corn, hominy, beans, and water; cook on simmer for 10-15 minutes. Stir well; add macaroni, coriander and paprika; stir well. Cook on simmer for 20-30 minutes or until macaroni is tender.
