Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Pie {My New Favorite}

8:18 PM

This pie recipe is a twist on an old favorite cookie recipe.  It reminds me of the Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe you mix up almost the same ingredients as the cookie--- flour, brown sugar, butter, egg, and semi-sweet chocolate chips, and pour it in an iron skillet and bake.

Well,  that is what you do with the Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Pie, except you pour all those sweet, creamy rich ingredients in a yummy pie crust.

You might say this is one big gooey warm chocolate chip cookie goodness that you can only eat a little piece of at a time.

It was such a huge hit this Thanksgiving weekend and already requested for the next holidays!

  • Ingredients:
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch (4-cup volume) deep-dish pie shell
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1 cup (6 oz pkg) Semi-sweet chocolate chip morsels
  • 1 cup chop pecans
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325° F. Beat eggs in large mixer bowl on high speed until foamy.

Beat in flour, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat in butter. Stir in morsels and nuts. Spoon into pie shell.

Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between edge and center comes out clean.

Cool on a wire rack. Serve warm with whipped cream, if desired.

    1. I added one teaspoon of vanilla and a dash of salt, which I felt was sorely missing the first time. With the addition of the two ingredients, it tasted very much like the original tollhouse cookie.
