I remember it was the first thing I thought about on my way to eating breakfast.
I remember most of the watermelon juice being served at room temperature, and it didn't bother me at all. The vibrant flavor of the watermelon was delightful.
Delicious, juicy watermelon is super healthy, and drinking the juice has overall health benefits. This beloved summer fruit also has a high water content making hydration most enjoyable.
Watermelons have only 46 calories per cup, which is astonishingly lower than the calories in low-sugar fruits such as berries.
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE FABULOUS WATERMELON JUICE
- Sharp knife
- Large spoon
- Blender
- Large mesh strainer
- Whole watermelon
- Limes
- Tajin
HOW TO MAKE FABULOUS WATERMELON JUICE
- Using a sharp knife, slice the watermelon in half. Scoop chunks of sweet watermelon into the blender without the seeds using a big spoon. Discard the rind.
- Blend the watermelon until it is totally liquid. This shouldn't take more than 30 seconds.
- Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher.
- If not drinking right away, place the pitcher in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- The juice will separate over time. Stir it with a spoon to distribute the pulp each time before pouring it into the glasses.
- When ready to serve the watermelon juice, pour a 1/2 cup of the Tijin spice into a shallow dish.
- Cut the lime in half. Rub the pulp of a cut side of the lime around the edge of the glasses. Turn each glass upside down in the shallow dish to grab some of the Tijin around the edge.
- Pour the watermelon into the prepared glass. Serve with lime slices.
